Resister Function in Electronics

"The property of a substance due to which it opposes or limit the flow of current through it. It is denoted by 'R' and measured in Ohm, represented by Omega sign'."

OHM:
The unit of resistence is ohm. It can be defined as;
"A conductor is said to have a resistance of one ohm, If it allows one ampere current flow through it, by applying one volt potential difference across its terminals."

R=V/I
The form R=V/I, shows that resister can be calculated dividing the voltage across resistance by current flowing through it. Actually resistance measures the opposition offered to the motion of the free electrons due to their continuous collision with the atom of the conductor. Resistance oppeses the flow of current through a conductor. This form can be used to define the practical units of resistance.
R=V/I
Or 1Ohm=1Volt/1Ampere

"If one ampere currents flows through a circuit by applying one volt potential difference, then amount of resistance is equal to one ohm."

In short, Resistor main funtion is to limit current flow or reduce the voltage in a electronic circuit.

Learn To Keep Your Computer Sparkling

Has the snoring granny of your neighborhood broken through your living room without any notice? It is her habit to disturb you in the wee hours of night by echoing a series of unpleasant music. But for your knowledge, the granny is on her trip to somewhere else. So what is sounding so dubious? You may be frightened. Kindly pay a vigil attention to your computer. You may find the alter ego of the snoring granny. The cause of snoring is the dust that has built its permanent hill station in your system. Dust chokes the vents behind your computer and forces it to give you the glimpses of the snoring granny. Do you know the fact that dust not only makes your computer to behave dubiously but also makes the CPU to heat up? Heat is the most potent enemy of your computer which causes component failure. So clean computer regularly and minimize the threats which affects the performance and efficiency of your computer.
You need simple tools to clean computer and you can do the cleaning at home with the help of these tools. The tools required are a screw driver, can of compressed air, cotton swabs, rubbing alcohol, anti static cloths and water. You can find the compressed air can at computer dealers. Never use cotton ball in place of cotton swabs when you clean computer. It may not provide the desired result.
Turn off the computer and disconnect the power supply when you start to clean computer. With the help of the screw driver open the case opposite to your mother board. Do not touch the inside parts of computer frequently. Keep your fingers away from the cards and cords when you clean computer.
Then blow air from the compressed air can around all the components of your computer. The nozzle of the can should be four inches away from the machine. The inside cover should be wiped with a light moistened cotton cloth.
After you clean the inside of the case, start to clean the outside. Dip the cotton swab in rubbing alcohol. Then give a gentle wipe to the outer side with this cotton swab. After the outside is cleaned properly, clean the keyboard. Keyboard has the maximum chance to gather dust as they have the maximum exposure to the outside. Clean the keyboard with the help of the cotton swab. While cleaning make sure the cotton swab is damp not wet. If it will be wet, further problems can occur.
Clean the monitor with the help of the moist paper towel softly. While cleaning, do not spray liquid directly on the screen. Spray the liquid on the cotton cloth and clean the monitor with that cloth. After cleaning all the equipments, connect the power supply only when they are dry. Perform this cleaning once in every three months to make the life span and performance of your computer satisfactory.

How Important Is A Cpu Fan

The computer may look like a very powerful and intelligent device but without the help of the various parts, the computer is absolutely nothing. We all know about the hardware and software parts of a computer but among them also there are such minute things which do not comes in our notice easily but are something very indispensable. These are very small and useful objects which sometimes prove to be very important for even performing the major tasks.
In this context, variety of things being used in the PC can be uttered like the RAM, hard disk, CD ROM, motherboard, CPU fan etc. Let us pick up one object from among these and discuss widely how important even the minute parts of the computer are.
The use of the CPU fan perhaps could have been denied but that is not possible. CPU is the most important organ of the computer without which the operating system can not be run. It is the CPU that makes the computer operator to write, store, send, download and make project etc. very easy. What does it take to make your tasks happen? Stating them is the first step towards its realisation, the realisation of the importance of the CPU. For the CPU to run what is vital is the CPU fan.The CPU fan is the most simple and ultimate thing that keeps the CPU cool and workable. Due to the excessive pressures and heat, the CPU becomes very hot and under such circumstances it is the CPU fan that makes the CPU capable of working properly. This small part is fixed in the inner part of the CPU and starts working as soon as the CPU is started.
The CPU is a combination of a number of parts namely the motherboard, memory, the arithmetic and logical components etc. the task that is performed by these components of the CPU are no doubt the very important ones. Therefore when all these will work continuously and together, it is very natural that these will get a high temperature. Probability is also there of these components being burned due to extreme heat and work load. In order to keep them cool and to give them sufficient air to cope up with the situation, the CPU fan is a must.
The price of the CPU fan, if bought alone and not altogether as a CPU, will be less. Based on the function and size though it is very important, but still there are facilities of availing these in reasonable prices. The used CPU fan is also another thing that can be had in very low prices and that too in workable conditions.
For a computer user the importance of the CPU fan is not at all a new thing to describe and he also is well aware of the utilities of this hardware part. Therefore from now onwards you too can lower the price of your computer parts to make your computer purchase in a reasonable rate.

Integrated Circuits And How They Affect You

Putting entire circuits on a chip have caused dramatic progress in technology. Do you know that this IC thingy is all about? How does it apply to you? How has their development changed your life? To answer these questions, we must first work to understand them as a whole.
ICs, Integrated Circuits, or chips are basically really tiny circuits. Their makeup should not be too far from your grasp, as they are constructed from basic electronic parts. The technology that makes your computer able to run everything from Word to Half-Life is just run by connected transistors, diodes, capacitors, and resistors. The transistors act as amplifiers for all of our household electronics, while the resistors focus on tuning back the effect.
Capacitors allow electricity to be stored and released in varying amounts for special effects, and the diode works to cut off electricity. Through these simply changes to electric current, we are able to send information throughout the device to make everything just work.
Let me take you on a journey from large clunky circuits to the modern day circuitry marvels. The 1950s saw a very important change in the field of electronic parts. Transistors were invented to replace the bulky and ineffective vacuum tubes that were once necessary for circuits. This let smaller electronics be practical and possible, since you finally didn't need your own power plant to run advancing technologies.
It was circuitry that held back further compression. Computers require the electric signals to flow quickly between the different parts. Old methods of production meant that the chips were just too large to actually be fast enough for practical computing. A new method for building a faster and smaller chip had to be found.
The a smart guy called Jack Kilby came up with a solution. He was just a new researcher left alone in the Texas Instruments laboratory while several of his colleagues were on vacation. While alone, he came up with a radical new way to actually craft chips. The different parts could just be made out of one block of a semi-conductive material.
It was then simply a matter of putting it all together with metal connections. Gone were the days of unwieldy and ineffective wires for transmitting information from point A to point B. This technique allowed for smaller integrated circuits to be made later on, which ultimately led to the development of the microprocessor.
This followed decades of innovation and that is what brought us to where we are. One integrated circuit led to another until it ended with the mind shatteringly fast chips of today. Hundreds of millions of basic electronic parts are now able to fit on one chip that is no larger than an average fingernail.
These series of computations make technology what it is today.

Finding Electronic Parts With Ease

The entire world has gone electronic and that, if nothing else, will cause you to look for parts. It is inconceivable that there was ever a time when semi-conductor electronics did not exist. Kitchens are powered by advanced appliances capable of cooking, steaming, chopping, grilling, deep frying, broiling, or boiling a meal.
At the end of it, all of the used plates get washed and reused. But all of these wonderful devices can easily break and then you will have to get into their electronic guts to try and repair them.

Getting parts is not all that easy. Many companies only offer limited support for replacements since there isn't much incentive. Why should they focus on technology that is five years old, when they can be focusing on the technology that powers next year's machines?
Things move so fast that some spare parts are bound to become obsolete faster than others. Pieces are phased out and replaced with new models that are completely incompatible with older models. So, how will you find a replacement?
The most straightforward method is that the manufacturer is supporting the parts. Using a brand new piece can have some very nice benefits. You will effectively be guaranteed of it working right, even if there are a few kinks in the installation process. It is also much easier to make a call to a manufacturer than to browse through spare parts. This isn't very likely though, and you will probably have to look for other alternatives to find the piece.
There are many ways to bell this cat. You should start by looking for any electronic surplus stores in the area. Technology is advancing at a rate that involves a good amount of appliances and equipment being thrown away just to make room. This means that their loss can be your gain, if their equipment was collected or purchased by the store. If you go to one of these stores you need to have a good idea of what you need.
Don't just look at your part once and say that "I'll remember it." You won't. If possible take a picture or the actual broken part with you so that you can actually match it with the replacement. Nothing is worse than buying the wrong model just because it looked like the right one.
When you think you have what you want, kick the tires. A good surplus store might have a warranty option available for it. Most of them have a steady supply of electronic parts and they won't argue over replacing a broken item.
With the progress of technology, there are now so many different types of parts that no one physical store can carry them all. In this case, you may have much better luck online. If all else fails, you can always look on eBay. A good number of surplus sellers across the country are smart enough to greatly expand their market by offering some of their unique wares online. You can easily find a great deal through a respected seller. Then your part will be safely shipped to you at a price that you can afford.
Finding the right electronic part can be particularly annoying. That was the primary inspiration behind writing this article.

Different Between Conductor, Insulator, Semiconductor

This Universe is made up of matter and matter is made of three forms.

  • Conductor.
  • Insulator.
  • Semiconductor.

This Blog will define the basic differant between them in a simple way.

CONDUCTOR:

Conductor is a type of material, that can easily conduct electric current. In conductor, the vallence band and conduction band are overlap to each other, therefore, a small amount of energy is required by the valence electrons to jump into the conduction band. e.g. copper, silver, Iron etc.

INSULATOR:

An insulator is a type of material that does not conducts electronic current under normal conditions. e.g, Glass, Paper etc.

SEMICONDUCTOR:

A semiconductor material is in the between the conductor and insulator in its ability to conducts electric current. They are niether good good conductors nor good insulators. e.g, Germanium, silicon etc.

ELECTRON THEORY

The operation of many electronics devices depended upon the movement of charged particles i.e, electrons with in them. Therefore, it is very necessary to study the structure and arrangement of atoms in solids. The objective of my blog is to present elementary knowledge about the physical structure of the solid(atom).

ATOM:
"The smallest particle of an element, which can not be further divided, and retain the characteristics of that element is called an atom."

STRUCTURE:
There are three fundamental particles in an atom.

  1. Electron.
  2. Proton.
  3. Neutron.

ELECTRON:

  • It carries negative(-ve) charge.
  • Electrons revolves around the nucleus in eliptical fixed orbits. e.g(egg shope).

PROTON:

  • It carries positive(+ve) charge.

NEUTRON:

  • It is electronically neutral ; which means it carries no charge.
