This Universe is made up of matter and matter is made of three forms.
- Conductor.
- Insulator.
- Semiconductor.
This Blog will define the basic differant between them in a simple way.
CONDUCTOR:
Conductor is a type of material, that can easily conduct electric current. In conductor, the vallence band and conduction band are overlap to each other, therefore, a small amount of energy is required by the valence electrons to jump into the conduction band. e.g. copper, silver, Iron etc.
INSULATOR:
An insulator is a type of material that does not conducts electronic current under normal conditions. e.g, Glass, Paper etc.
SEMICONDUCTOR:
A semiconductor material is in the between the conductor and insulator in its ability to conducts electric current. They are niether good good conductors nor good insulators. e.g, Germanium, silicon etc.
